When people make their resolutions, most will make broad statements
that are hard to quantify and measure. Being hard to measure, it becomes hard to gauge success, and people quit trying because they become disheartened by the lack of results. Track Your Progress
It’s very easy to forget your successes and remember even the smallest failure. Because of this I highly suggest you keep a log or journal so that you become fully aware that positive changes are happening. The more you see them taking place, the more you will want to continue moving forward.
Set goals that are attainable. For example, instead of making the resolution to lose fifty pounds by summer focus on smaller, more doable
goals. Take it one day/week at a time. In doing this, you will avoid rebounding in weight.
Do It For You
Sometimes we say we’re going to change something in our lives because someone else thinks we should. Such goals are inherently bound to fail
because the impetus for change must reside within yourself and not at the
behest of someone else. True change must come from you.
Examine your list of New Year Resolutions and if any of them fit into the above descriptions, then adjust them accordingly. For example, if you have more than two resolutions listed, pare them down to just two that are especially important to you right now. Above all, be committed to focus and follow through. That time commitment includes hypnotizing yourself on a daily basis. The more you do it, the more your train your mind to do what you want it to do.
